The Autonomous Footsoldier Manifesto

This construction of vocabulary is dedicated to the question "What is an Autonomous Footsoldier?" and is conditioned by two statements:

  • Revolutionaries are every bit as likely to be Good Guys as they are to be Bad Guys.
  • We are -- all of us -- Autonomous Footsoldiers in our own personal revolutions.

Further, this and any other discussion of the subject must necessarily carry a murky undertone best described by a third conditional statement:

  • Ain't nuthin' worth doin', including doin' nuthin'.

BECAUSE -- a child is born into a particular time, place, and community...

BECAUSE -- any particular time, place, and community necessarily creates a set of standards for the child to look up to and expectations for the child to meet...

BECAUSE -- autonomy is a fancy word for the WILL of the individual...

BECAUSE -- will comes from within...

BECAUSE -- the expectations and standards of a community in its time and place shape, mold, and compromise the will of the growing child...

BECAUSE -- in order for the grown child to exercise Free Will, the external standards and expectations of the time, place, and community must be broken down to their most basic elements and reassembled by the internal will of the child in question...

Because of all of this, the psychological journey from the total dependency of the infant to the responsible, emotionally healthy, free willed adult who can be both trusted and depended upon amounts to a Revolution fought by the individual against the entire world for the Right of self determination.

Complete victory by the individual revolutionary is the Mythological Ideal. Real life, temporal world revolutionaries never achieve total victory. The individual's personal revolution is a life long process that can never be finished.

This, friends, is the proverbial "good fight". All times are the "times that try men's souls", and when all is said and done, it's only your own indominable will that'll get you through the long, dark night.

Autonomy -- because "thy Will shall be the whole of the law".

Dexterity -- because nobody is gonna do thy will for you.

Isolation -- because we're all alone inside the vacuum of our minds.
